World's first cross-chain common standard for blockchain released
China News Agency reporter 26 from the Ant Group Digital Technology Developer Conference was informed that the IEEE (International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) released the world's first blockchain cross-chain standard (P3205) at the conference, which was established in May 2020, by Ant Group, China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Grid Electric Power, Baidu and other 20 Chinese corporate institutions, more than 50 The staff took 3 years to compile and complete.
The industry believes that the release of this standard means that there is an international consensus theoretical and technical basis in the field of blockchain cross-chain in the future. Blockchain technology has been included in the 14th Five-Year Plan as one of the key industries in the digital economy. From copyright protection, agricultural product traceability, to public charity and e-government, blockchain technology has become indispensable in the digital development of China's industry. In the process of global integration, blockchain technology will also play a huge role in the financial industry, tourism, cross-border trade and other scenarios.
Li Ming, Chairman of IEEE Computer Society Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Standardization Committee, said at the conference that the significance of cross-chain technology is to break data silos and allow direct circulation of value across the barriers between chains and chains. And the significance of releasing cross-chain standards is to agree on a unified communication protocol, which is like allowing people who used to speak in different dialects to start speaking Mandarin, and will greatly reduce the cost of interoperability.
In order to further promote the interconnection of all chains, AntChain Bridge, a cross-chain technology service developed by AntChain based on this standard, will be open-sourced to the society, build the Web3 open ecology, and invite developers to promote the mutual trust and synergy of the world Web3 together.
Blockchain has become one of the key technologies for next-generation technology competition. The Blockchain White Paper (2022) shows that China and the United States are leading the world in the number of blockchain companies, with a combined share of 52%. According to statistics, there are 6,914 blockchain-related companies worldwide, and more than 1,400 blockchain companies in China.
