OG exit one after another NFT culture is dead?
Recently, some NFT investors and large investors have withdrawn from the circle due to some conditions or changes in the NFT market, followed by some people "singing the praises" of NFT, NFT veteran wale.swoosh posted an article explaining the current state of NFT, BlockBeats compiled the following:
NFT is not dead.
Aaron sent out a viral tweet a few days ago mentioning that NFT would never return to its peak in 2021 and that the NFT culture was dead. But that's far from reality. It's true that things don't look good statistically. a large portion of NFT trading volume in terms of total ATL users comes from airdrop incentives, and overall prices have plummeted.
But as we all know, crypto is cyclical and this is normal in a cycle. The peak has passed and a few devotees remain loyal. We see this time and time again in the crypto market, for example, and Bitcoin doesn't look too good in 2018/19, does it?
"Well, it did in fact see a lot of OGs exit as well", yes, but that's not a bad thing. Many so-called 'OGs' have either ruined their reputations with paid scams or other shady things, or were just there for the hype to begin with.
NFT doesn't need these people. Instead, a new wave of founders, content creators and traders will take their place, and the truth is already moving in a good direction, with new people replacing old ones.
NFT culture is not just about the same group of people calling monkeys on Twitter space, which of course most NFT players don't understand. It's about a shared memory of what's happened in the last two years in Web 3, it's about iconic phrases like "can devs do something".
The NFT culture is always changing. Just because something or someone is gone doesn't mean the NFT culture is dead. While the old guard is out of the loop, enthusiastic newcomers are still stepping into that important role.
Many NFT projects are better off and further along today than they were then, with Yuga Labs about to release a meta-universe, Doodles acquiring an award-winning animation studio, and many projects working behind the scenes.
Of course, not everything is perfect, there are still scams, greed and false marketing, and there is still betrayal by project holders. But isn't that always the case when you're in the cryptocurrency world. The good news is that our awareness of how to treat the bad guys has risen and the condemnation of those bad guys is much more severe today than it was then.
So is NFT really dead? No. The NFT culture is changing, but that doesn't mean it's getting worse, the NFT heyday will return, our original feelings about NFT will return, and many of the OGs people are "mourning" today will return with it.
But does that mean your Mutant Cat, Crypto Doodlez holdings will return to the prices you paid for them in the last bull market? Sorry, probably not. But the real built projects will make a comeback. and the NFT technology itself is not being abandoned anywhere.
NFT isn't over, NFT may have just begun!
