More than 350 industry executives, experts and professors in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) have signed an open letter in which they warn that AI could pose a risk of human extinction. The letter, published Tuesday on the website of the nonprofit Center for Artificial Intelligence Security (CAIS), was signed by Sam Altman, CEO of Open AI, the "father of ChatGPT," DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, Anthropic Chief Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, and executives from Microsoft and Google, among others.
